| unfortunately, i don't have a picture for you guys. but what i DO have are some amazing memories. the guys at Z-Rock [the local rock station here in the state of the state i live in] have done this for six consecutive years now, and they take it very seriously... Homeless for the Holidays is a drive for the needy, where Twitch, Shortbus, and Manlove [and Mary Jane in previous years] all become "homeless" [they literally sleep in a parking lot for a week] and collect money, food, clothing, and toys for those who can't afford to give their families a good Christmas or Thanksgiving. i went all day today, 11/19, [literally from 10:00 A.M. to 7:30 P.M.] and hung out with these guys, and let me tell ya: some of the coolest, nicest guys you'll ever meet. while i was hanging out with the coolest people in the state, i saw over thirty cars dropping off money, food, clothes, and toys. it was a life-changing, inspirational experience, really. i was astounded [in a good way, i assure you] by people's generosity. cars were literally lining up to donate their old things and money, it was wonderful! even though the holidays haven't quite arrived yet, the air around the place was magical. |
